In 2012, SLRC acquired Crystal Financial ("Crystal"), a commercial finance company that provides highly structured senior and junior secured asset-based debt solutions. The investment team specializes in making loans to borrowers that have capital needs and/or financing profiles that are not a fit for traditional, regulated providers where creative and highly customized solutions are required. SLRC's equity investment generates current income from Crystal's commercial finance investment activities and is expected to generate net long term capital gains.

The team was formed in 1993 and has originated, underwritten and managed in excess of $20 billion of new transactions for its clients since inception.

In Q1, 2021, Crystal was renamed "SLR Credit Solutions" in conjunction with a rebranding initiative.
